This screwball romp explores the comically bumbling way we come out to the people we love — whether we’re gay or straight. In Manhattan, Alex gets engaged to Dana, and tells him that her entire family is dead. The truth is that she doesn’t think her South Carolina clan will accept a Jewish, African-American in-law. When she attends the wedding of her highmaintenance sister, her best friend unwittinglystarts a rumor that Alex is gay and Dana is a woman. Now entangled by her lies, Alex struggles to come to terms with her fiancé, her family and most of all, herself.

Unable to afford an engagement ring, a lesbian involves her gay friend in a farcical heist that goes horribly wrong.
