Brady, an eighteen-year-old devout Christian, moves to a serene California coastal community with his mother seeking a new life – and to spread the word of the Lord. Everything seems idyllic until he befriends their outgoing neighbor, Clifford. When it becomes clear that Clifford is attracted to him, Brady’s journey through fear, surrender and recrimination is fast and furious, as are his alternating impulses to reject, embrace and save Clifford. A balanced portrait of warring passions and convictions, Rock Haven is a sensitive exploration of two souls looking for an experience of grace, who find it in the most unexpected places.

Poet Kenneth Morrison responds to Rev. Willie Wilson’s infamous anti-gay sermon with a personal journey to understanding.
